A visionary composer bridging cultural boundaries through innovative sonic landscapes, Dr. Jinhee Han crafts musical ideologies that challenge conventional boundaries while creating profound resonant connections. Based in Boston and New York, she brings a unique perspective shaped by her multicultural background and diverse artistic influences.
Education & Artistic Development Born in Seoul, Dr. Han's musical journey spans continents and traditions. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition at Boston University in 2024, where she was honored with the School of Music Award for winning the Orchestra Composition Competition. Her academic path includes Professional Studies at The New School, Mannes College under renowned composer Robert Cuckson, and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Hanyang University in Seoul.
Creative Vision & Current Work
Dr. Han's compositions weave together visual art, architecture, and sound-sculpting to create compelling sonic fiction. As Founder and Director of the Artistic Women Collective Atelier in New York City, she actively fosters collaboration across cultural boundaries, working with diverse ensembles including Lilac94, The Half Moon Project, Concrete Timbre, Habitat Home, The Geo Mun Go, NYWC, and Cobalt.
